Normally, you don’t need WordPress MultiSite but has its cool uses e.g. for SaaS apps, hosting etc.

Sometimes when you manage the WordPress MultiSite network you’ll run into this error:

Error: File Upload Exceeds the Maximum Upload Size for this Site

This is because by default WordPress Multisite applies file upload limit to about 1,500 KB which is almost 1.5MB.

To change the settings go to:

My Sites > Setting > Scroll to Max upload file size

Set the value to 16384 and click on Save Changes button.
This is 16MB

Note: If you still can’t upload file larger than 2MB you should PHP can also apply some upload limits.
By default thee are the settings. Do check the php.ini settings or ask your hosting provider to increase these values for you.

post_max_size = 8M
upload_max_filesize = 2M
